I am crying for my country, South Africa. The Rainbow dream died with Madiba. The New Dawn of Prez Cyril R is super-infected with a malignancy of the cancerous kind. We are dying here. The name of the disease is zumastatcapturiscorruptis. It is endemic to South Africa.
Symptoms of the disease: People are fed racist rhethoric. Land is grabbed, cash in transit heists is a thing. Wife-killing too. Corruption is rife. Policemen and farmers and political opponents are killed, schools are burnt down. There are no services to speak of. At the municipality, at the post office, at the hospital, in rural areas there is such a lack of any standards of service, people are numbed by nothingness. The list of symptoms goes on, and on, and on…
Our minister of police Bheki Cele got it it wrong yesterday: “The Theme “Safety of Women, Children and vulnerable group is the brighter future of South Africa”This inhuman scourge is fiercely eating the moral fibre in our society and is belittling the dignity of Inzalabantu yezwe kanye nabantwana bethu. The time to say never again is Now! Mr President the police are taking the Thuma Mina call to the streets of South Africa to Bring down the scourge of crimes against women and children and vulnerable group of our society! Sonke Sithi Ngeke! Sobe! Phinde!”
What rubbish. Just words. Don’t placate us. Do something. Protect us. Arrest the thieving and corrupt in our parliament, your police force, our municipalities. Severe action is required.
Today as I write here, a cash in transit heist took place. A gang of guntoting bastards stopped traffic, blew up two cash vans, carried the loot to luxury SUV’s and all witnesses could do is video it on their cellphones. Shots ringing, cars scattering away from the scene, witnesses shouting: “Holy shit. Motherf…..”
Well yes, holy shit, cry. The beloved country is on life support and there is no antidote for zumastatcapturiscorruptis. Serious life-saving surgery is needed. The true antidote for the infection coursing through every fibre of our society is a government that delivers, and love for this country, respect for all people and above all empathy.
